On May, 26 2002, during the 16th SticCon, in Bellaria (Italy), a representative of the Italian Vulcan Academy had the great honor to meet Leonard Nimoy and present him with an original art by our distinguished academy member Andrea "Solmak" Solmi, also known as Captain Giulio Valerio Adelardi. The art was highly appreciated. |

Leonard Nimoy at SticCon XVI
|
From May 23 to 26 2002, in Bellaria (Italy), SticCon 16th was held. Guest star: Leonard Nimoy. Obviously the Vulcan Academy could not miss such an event. A delegation is gathering to meet him. To honor our guest, the Diario di Bordo, the traditional special fanzine which goes with the SticCon, was entrusted to the Vulcan Academy and it contains a thorough compendium of all the canon data available about Vulcan and Vulcans. |

| Vulcan Academy Reorganization | As you all will certainly know, the Vulcan Academy owes its existence to Chancellor Shand and Ambassadress Mir, who all along the years were our guide and reference in our steady search of knowledge and exercise of logic. Lately, as it was logical to expect, both our Masters have been compelled to turn their attention to other and more noble tasks. While Shand has now reached the goal of accomplishing Kolinahr, Mir took charge of the spiritual guide of Vulcan, becoming a High Priestess and Keeper of the Ancient Knowledge. The honorable, but humbler, charge of Chancellor of the Vulcan Academy goes then to the present Vice-Chancellor and former Head of the Bibliographical Commission, Marco "Sabich" Vittorini, while the role of Ambassadress in S.T.I.C., will be covered by the present Head of Prism Commission, Anna "T'Sun" Perotti. The newly appointed Head of the Bibliographical Commission will be our valuable collaborator Salvatore 'Sooran' Carboni. While we respectfully thank Shand and Mir for their commendable work, we whish good work to the newly appointed ones. All charges will be operative from January, 1 2001. |

Those who were elected are: Moderator, Dario Valeri; Vice-Moderators, Stefano Avvisati e Silvana Varlec |

| Consulates closed | When the Academy was founded, its member were few and spread all over the country and communications were entirely entrusted to phone, a swift but expensive mean, and snail mail, which deficiencies do not need to be told. We thought then to appoint somebody who could act as a contact and a reference for the Vulcans who were living too far. So, Center Italy and North Italy Consulates were born. Since then, they both did their job in a dignified way. Now, with communications made easier and swifter by Internet and a greater number of Academicians equally distributed all over the country, Consulates seem to be less needed. Hence, we think it logical to free the appointed Consuls from their burden and turn their energies to different duties. Therefore we thank Carlo "Skor" Mascellani and Silvana "T'Var" Varlec for all their work, knowing that they will not fail to provide assistance to whoever will still turn to them, seeking for help and advice. Obviously T'Var will remain in charge of the Linguistical Commission; Skor is available for a new task. We are waiting to know his preferences. |

| Races Senatus: Moderator's resignation | After a long and surely hard thinking, Ambassador Kronogh ghar Krmongh Ai Kranegh, aka Antonio Falcolini, finally decided to ultimately resign from Senatus Moderator. So far, no successor has been appointed and, actually, nobody presented him/herself as a candidate. Some good willing delegates are anyway trying to complete the work for the Race Senatus Log # 2, for which some material has been gathered. |

| Vulcan Academy at SticCon XIII | Last October, from the 21th to 24th, 1999 SticCon XIII took place in Bellaria. During the Con, as every year, the Races Senatus held its meeting. The Vulcan Academy was represented by Vice-Chancellor Marco "Sabich" Vittorini and Senator Anna "T'Sun" Perotti. Senator Silvana "T'Var" Varlec also attended in her quality of Vice-Moderator. During the meeting we presented the articles to be published next year. We will give a list of them further. Moderator Kronogh ghar Krmongh Ai Kranegh, aka Antonio Falcolini, informed us about his decision to postpone the publishing of the Races Fanzine, because the material collection is not completed yet. However, he gave us his Klingon word of honor that the fanzine will be printed. An other novelty, which came out from the meeting is that, from now, the Races Senatus will accept our contributions whenever they will be ready. That is, we no longer have to deliver our articles to be published on the IST all at once, on occasion of the annual meeting, but we will be allowed to deliver them at any time. That allows us more pliability and better timing and put us in mild advantage, since presently the R. S. has ten our articles still to be published. That does not mean we can forget about writing other ones. On the contrary, to be allowed to deliver our pieces as they become ready will allow us to substitute whenever we like an already delivered article with a more interesting or better timed one. Antonio Falcolini was confirmed as R. S. Moderator, along with his whole staff. After that, on 11/11/99 a new S. T. I. C. Commanding Staff was appointed. The newly appointed elective members are Marco Pesaresi, Alessandra Rossato and Nicola Vianello. Understandably despised, Ambassador Kronogh considered to resign his charge of R. S., but, comforted by the warm support of all delegates, he finally decided to boldly remain in his place. After R. S. meeting, a Vulcan Academy meeting followed. All Vulcans in the Con we were able to reach attended. Unfortunately the meeting was called on the spot, with very short notice, and we are quite sure that, notwithstanding our efforts to find everybody, we missed some. We regret about that and we would recommend to all of you that, in the future, you will want to help us by contacting our delegates as soon as you arrive to the Con place. The meeting was quite satisfactory both because of the presence of so many and because of the interest and good will expressed by the attending ones. Many offered their ideas to improve our fanzines and promised their contribution. We obviously expect they to keep their promises. Any other course of action would be most illogical. Later, Consul Silvana "T'Var" Varlec e Researchers Salvatore "Sooran" Carboni and Giuseppe "Saduk" Ruiu stated their availability to act as Vulcan Culture teachers at the Roman Department of Star Fleet Academy. |

| Academy Elections | So far, nobody out of the retiring Senatus stood as a candidate. We interpret this lack of ambition from our Academicians as a quiet expression of will to confirm the present management in its charges. We thank for the trust and accept the charge. We also think it would be illogical to waste Academy members' time and money by demanding a formal vote, which would bring no changes. |
| Academy Senatus meeting | On October, 18 1998, in Rome, took place a meeting of the Senatus Academicus to discuss about next year Academy activities. Next Academy Bulletin will contain a summon of its outcoming. |
