Belden (DeForest Kelley), the army doctor, while his partner, Frank Carlton, is still hiding out in the Apache territory. The doctor stays with Wismer because of his critical condition but falls asleep. In that moment an acquaintance of Wismer, Mikea, comes in and kills him to get the map of a hidden treasure.

Dr. Belden feels responsible for Wismer’s death not knowing that Mike has killed him. When Trampus comes in he finds one of the men he pursues dead (Wismer) and confronts Mike making him help to look for Carlton. Helen also goes along to look for Carlton and reveals later that she's Carlton's wife.

Dr. Belden comes along too. Helen and Mike are killed in the Apache region, and the two men find Carlton hanged. Before Mike dies he confesses Dr. Belden that it was him who has killed Wismer. Trampus and Belden struggle to survive but finally reach Wyoming area again.
