Ves leads Cody into a trap. When Cody comes around a corner he's being beaten up. The organizers of a boxing fight in a nearby town do not want any competition event, like the planned rodeo, to take place tonight. Stoney tries to find out who's behind the plot and to prevent the rodeo from being cancelled. Secretly Ves phones the boss of Kate City: "The cowboys won't give up their rodeo." Soon afterwards the truck bringing in the special brand of strong Mexican cows is held up by police. It becomes obvious that someone is behind all odds to come: The commissioner of police who has a personal joust with the commissioner of the town.

After lots of various difficulties which even causes death of a man, the odds are settled and the rodeo is broadcasted to take place tonight. Art Paxton, the famous boxeur, wonders whether he can be suspended just before the fight. He knows that his two pals have been the ones who hurt the rodeo rider and sends them to finish the job. – Not unsuccessfully as they had been in the morning. When they are gone he listens to the radio broadcast - the rodeo is definitely on.

All meet at the bull pan. Not knowing Ves has warned the cowboys the attackers go for Cody again - only to find out that they are attacked by the cowboys. By now Art Paxton has climbed a fence and a fight between Stoney and Paxton begins. When Stoney bows down, Paxton hits the truck behind Stoney. In the fight he manages to beat Stoney down and tries to leave the place climbing the fence again.
In this moment Ves pushes him from below and Art Paxton falls into the bull pan. Stoney sees the bulls approaching the man and pulls him to his side through underneath the fence.

When all get out of the bull pan, they meet the two commissioners and make clear that they do not want to be used for their purposes.  Art Paxton declares that he will not fight tonight. He would have fought even knowing that Stoney has saved his life because he loves his sport. But showing the hurt hand he makes clear that there is no way to even think of trying.
