Thomas Clay is an elderly highly
respected specialist working on a top secret weapon for the USA.
He lives with his wife, Joanna, and often they are visited by Bob, who regularly
stays
overnight. Working late Tom does not spend much time with
his wife, so she enjoys Bob's company. All the time Tom is under surveillance
by security people watching him.
One night Tom goes down to his office and discovers that his best friend, Bob,
takes photos from his latest works - obviously spying for another country.
Bob admits that he's selling this high priced information. He also convinces Tom
that he cannot do anything. If he told someone, he would be seen as an accomplice.
Tom approaches the window to call in the security waiting outside - but changes
his mind.
The situation would make look him to be part of the espionage.
Though
Mr. Cowell,
the security guard, comes in to check whether everything is o.k., Tom confirms and
backs Bob, who has told him that he will be leaving the next day, not before handing
over the microfilm to Tom.
The next day Tom has the film checked and gets reported that it is an empty film.
When Joanna meets Bob, he invites her to come along. She agrees to meet him at
the airport. At home Joanna tells Tom that she is leaving with Bob.
He confesses that he does not want to loose her and promises to change his
attitude. Joanna believes him and - relieved - decides to stay.
To put things right Tom
leaves with a revolver to stop Bob, knowing from his wife where he is to be found.
He manages to leave unnoticed and soon the security people come in to find out where
he's gone to. General Brackman and Mr. Cowell soon get the wanted information and
race after them to the airport.
There Tom has stopped Bob, but not the plane Bob's accomplice has just left with.
The security speed after it, stop it and get all they want. Tom is called into
Gen. Brackman's office the next day where his wife will accompany him to.
