On their way back to the others some soldiers are shot and Lt. Henley is taken prisoner of war by Nazi soldiers under the lead of captain Reichhard. One of the shot soldiers pretends to be dead and manages to radio the group informing them about what has happened to them. His fellow soldiers rush to the place and find him. But too late, he dies after he told them that Captain Reichhard has captured more American officers. They want to bring the dead away as they hear an explosion.

Nearby the Nazi soldiers have attacked a hut. They surround the hut and open fire. When all soldiers are inside Pvt. Baum translates: "Gebt auf, Ihr habt keine Chance herauszukommen!" and all come out and surrender. Now the group tries to find out who of the prisonners is Captain Reichhard. They are told that he is the one dead inside the hut. It all went too easy. As they try to find out where the captured officers are held, with the help of Pvt. Baum's translations, every soldier tells them that only Captain Reichhard knew the place- in the same combination of words. They agree that someone rehearsed them really good. After they examined the body in the hut, they find that he was wounded by a splinter of a mine – not of a bullet, meaning: this is not Captain Reichhard.

The only thing they know of him is that Captain Reichhard speaks English. All Nazis standing in a row, they are asked for their rank and number by Pvt. Baum. Standing behind them, another soldier suddenly commands: "Straighten up!" and the soldier to whom Pvt. Baum is speaking gets up at once. Thinking to have found Captain Reichhard, the Americans want to interrogate him. Now, one after another, all the Nazis admit that he can speak English because Captain Reichhard had chosen well educated soldiers only. The Lieutenant is in need to find out where the American officers are held and decides to do it their way: He will shoot one Nazi after the other until Reichhard is found. He takes one of them into the hut and when the Nazi soldiers hear the shot, all of them look at their leader- Captain Reichhard is found. He says: "I presume my man is well and alive?" The Lieutenant agrees and lets the man get out again. Reichhard is taken into the hut, but he manages to overwhelm the guard and escapes. The Americans follow him, find the captured officers and arrest him.
