Dana and Jim pose as lovers. They are to prevent James Reed, a systems analyst and foreign agent, to obtain information about a newly developed missile by showing him a fake. 

Because Jim Hecker takes Dana for his former girlfriend, a woman he has killed, he abducts her; Barney and Paris have a hard time finding and rescuing her. Barney gets caught in a sealed room which is on fire and is freed by Willy who opens the door thanks to his strength. 

Just in time Dana, who had had contact with Reed, can phone Jim Phelps and warn him about the car he's driving. Reed has sabotaged it to kill Jim. Seconds before the accident, Jim can jump out and save himself, while Reed thinks his plan has worked out and he has taken the fake documents and photographs with him.
