Armand Anderssarian, the world’s largest dealer in illegal arms, is just before
completing his biggest deal ever - which the IMF is to stop.
While Barney, Dana and Paris prepare for gambling with the help of a computer,
which can detect which cards are with which player, Jim is caught in the attempt
to break into an arms dealer's house. He's questioned and a ring is found,
revealing his past as rescuer of Anderssarian, when he was a prisoner of war
long ago.
Now Anderssarian comes to get Jim out in return – after he found
out that Jim plans a spectacular theft: The neighboring country’s secret radar
system. He sponsors him with $ 5 Million while planning to sell it for $ 20
Million himself to the corrupt defense minister Sartori.
In addition to that
he awaits a delivery of arms worth $ 5 Million and he is winning – in card
games exceeding the casino's limits of stakes. His younger girl friend Nicole
is with him, waiting for attention and spending her time drinking.
Paris plays his first rounds of poker in the casino.
When Anderssarian joins in, he notices Dana. In order to have her losing the game against
him, Mr. Kroll (Paris) denies her to borrow money from him. Anderssarian offers
help, but Dana denies, obviously disgusted by Mr. Kroll's behavior - hard,
cold and mean – not the behavior of a gentleman. She earns Anderssarian's respect
and leaves. After only one game, which he loses, against Mr. Kroll, Anderssarian
leaves.

Cash, or she is out! |
Meanwhile Jim and his group "steal" the defense system under the
close watch of Leon, Anderssarian's supporter.
Nicole becomes aware that Anderssarian seems to be attracted to
Dana. She follows her and believes her to be with Andressarian in her room.
As Dana leaves, she enters Dana's room and is relieved to find Mr. Kroll, who
does not notice her while he is busy in the bathroom. And she discovers the
computer Barney operates with in the room. Soon she and Anderssarian explore
the device, Anderssarian again rebuking her, in spite of the helpful information.
Discovering the frequency Barney uses to transmit the computer findings to Paris, Anderssarian adjusts his hearing aid to listen
along to the information Paris gets.
It works: Anderssarian listens to Barney and Paris wins the
first game.

Why dont we increase the limit? |
Now Anderssarian agrees to Mr. Kroll to increase the limits even
more, to $ 3 million when Paris has got two sevens, a three and a queen. I n these moments Leon sells the defense system to Sartori –
at least he was to sell it, until Sartori discovered that it is a fake,
empty covers looking like computers systems. Anderssarian thinks he can trick Mr. Kroll
by his own cheating device, but during the card game he receives his call, which tells
him that his $ 5 million in support for the theft is gone.
Just after Barney has told Paris
he's switched the channels into two different ones: the one in use for
Anderssarian and the other frequence for Paris only, Nicole approaches the
table. Being hurt because of the rejections, feeling not enough cared for,
since it was her who gave Anderssarian the hint with the computer, she spills
the contents of her glass over the table – putting the PC out of work. Now Paris
is on his own.

Anderssarian nearly got a diamond straight flash - the last card
still hidden and has suggested to raise to $ 5 million. Paris hesitates - ... and agrees,
saying with a smile that he needs to win back $ 250.000 he's lost to Anderssarian
and pushes the chips for the missing $ 2 Million slowly into the middle of the
table. After a moment of tension, Mr. Kroll's hidden card turns out to be a
third seven, while Anderssarian's card is revealed to be another ten –
which leaves Anderssarian with one pair only. Anderssarian hardly can walk –
he twice has lost $ 5 million in a few minutes.
A gentleman who later turns
out to be the dealer in illegal arms helps him out of the room. The dealer
happily tells him about the weapons arriving soon and that he's ready to hand
them over – after he got paid the promised $ 5 million. Anderssarian laughs out
loud – in despair.
Back in the room the IMF awaits Paris' results, since it had not been
possible to repair the computer's sensors from there. "Did you win?" they ask him,
taking him in their midst. "Of course – what else?" Paris wonders.
