The task challenging the IMF is to reveal the
identity of someone who calls himself "Plato". Plato's next plan is to murder
Adolfo Roja so that his government can be taken over by Manuel Ferrar.
To get Ferrar the IMF drugs him before takeoff in a plane and takes him
(in disguise) by ambulance to a replica of the plane where he awakes.
On its "flight" this plane gets in trouble, the engines fail and the plane
is just before a crash – this is what he experiences before he sleeps in again.
He wakes up to find himself a survivor of a plane crash - on an island.
He is found by prisoners and learns that the uncharted island is a place where
convicts, such as
Paris, are surviving - all of them believed dead or lost
at sea.
They live in a system of underground tunnels. Ferrar remembers the
name "Marcos" and discovers it: Sewed onto Paris' striped convict suit.
Marcos was an undercover agent Ferrar never met.
When Ferrar finds out about an escape plan from the island by a small boat,
he reveals himself to Marcos and tries to escape with him alone. As the others
are after them, he tries to escape and wants Paris to back him up.
Unfortunately Paris is incapable and too much in distress to hold up the
others, so that Ferrar offers to back up Paris in order to fulfill the task.
When the gunfire suddenly stops, Ferrar explores the tunnels which were usually
crowded by convicts – finding all deserted. As he climbs up the shore, he's
surprised to view a quite populated area and to see the police cars arriving.
