YOU ARE A POET AND DON'T KNOW IT

Besides giving impressive reading examples the group informs the audience about the character of poetry.

There were many readings and the performance emphasizes the effect of poetry on people.

This is why I do not summarize the readings here and only quote the main parts of the performance:

 Introduction:
Some basics of poetry are:
What does it do to you? – A poem should not "mean" it should "be"

Does the poem excite you? Poets can take familiar things and make you see them for the first time.

It is the power to tell stories in a memorable way.

Many reading examples follow including a quote:
"The most wonderful creature... you." (Walt Widman)
