Zeth introduces the problem: Some hard core trekkers rejected the new film (Star Trek XI The Future Begins). He welcomes Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine.
Chris Pine begins explaining why they came out tonight: They want to address the long time Star Trek fans. Zachary says that they realize that Star Trek fans are concerned about how they handle their beloved franchise. Two people from the audience are shown. Both are dressed as fans (TOS) one keeps on shaking his head in disbelieve, the other looks very angry.

Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine exchange looks and obviously are aware that they are facing a tremendous task before Z. Quinto ensures that they went great length to make the film flawlessly go in with the established canon. C. Pine makes clear that the stardates correspond perfectly with those of The Original Series and The Next Generation.
Both play it with some uncertainty and shy smiles towards the audience, and Z. Quinto goes on: And we took the time to explore the Kholinar and the pon farr ritual. C. Pine: I swear that the transporters of the Enterprise utilize the hith .., the haight, … the … oh, god, I have no idea what I am talking about. (laughing from the audience) Z. Quinto : Neither do I. (very seriously) You guys, please, you have got to stop harassing us.
Zeth (the interviewer): You are getting harassed?
Z.Q.: You have no idea! (C.P. is nodding) several “incidents” are reported about fans harassing them ;) They complain about in middle of the night phone calls, lot's of decapitated action figures the get and lot's of empty inhaling canisters. Stones scratch their windows. When Zeth asks why they don't break, they say the fans don't throw them hard enough.
Now Zeth really wonders: You are intimidated by fans? ZQ: They really can be intimidating. Look! (The camera focuses on the two fans in the audience. One is pointing at eyes and indicating a sharp point towards them, the other form unheard words with his mouth.

Suddenly a voice is heard: “they will come, they will come.”
Leonard enters the stage.
The two fans beam, applaud and make the Vulcan greeting. (applause and shouts
from the audience)
He puts his hands on the backs of Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto asks: But what if they reject us as the new Kirk and Spock?
Leonard: Gentlemen, I have spent many years of my life among Trekkies, eh, Trekkers. And they have been some of the greatest years of my life. It will take time and I believe it is soon, that they will find you, Chris, to be equal to the original Captain Kirk and you, Zacharay, (Z. Q. looks happy, smiling confidently) to be slightly less than equal (the smile is gone) to the original Spock. (Z. Q. seems to be thinking very hard)

LN (emphasizing): But ultimately okay!

ZQ: You think they will like the film, Leonard?
LN: To not like it would be
Zeth: I know what you're gonna say! To not like it would be highly illogical.
LN: No. I was going to say: To not like it would make them dickheads.
(very pleased the two fans are nodding.)

Z.Q. is breathing
out with relief and C.P. is nodding.
All do the Vulcan greeting and the audience applauds.
