The $ 20,000 Pyramid

Leonard Nimoy and Bill Shatner are frequent celebrity guests at this game show.

In 1977 there is a show where both are taking part at the same time.
Two people play as partners against a team of two others. They try to find the name of an object, a theme, a synonym or anything else grouped by similarities. E. g.: "Things which make a sound," "words which contain the word '-body'" or "something which has a double meaning"…

One participant looks onto a screen and describes the word to his/her partner without using the word itself. When the partner guessed the correct word, the next word is given. During a time limit the correctly guessed words are counted. Then the other group plays another round and the winning team of two rounds go to the final goal: "The $ 20,000 Pyramid". (Later the $25,000 Pyramid).

There the non – celebrity participant and her / his partner try to play the same game without competition against the time. If they manage, the non – celebrity guest wins $ 20,000.

Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner were guests from 1973 to 1977.

Leonard Nimoy and Bill Shatner take part together in 5 shows, playing against each other, and give the audience a head to head run.

In show No 3 Bill Shatner introduces a rare way of entertainment when smashing a chair underlining the action with loud groans and shouts – showing his anger about himself. This way his partner has a great laugh though she’s just lost the game.

Though highly concentrated and trying his best to help his partner win her part, Bill Shatner had used a word which was to be guessed (thereby spoiling their chance to win).

Leonard adds that he had tried to teach him to behave logically - in vain as it seems. Both are making lots of points and are a good sport.

Their chemistry matches, you see the professionalism with both, and both give their best to help their partners win – against the other – and to make the show a funny one to watch.
