In Search Of... Season 3 #21, GHOSTLY STAKEOUT
Ghost
hunters believe they can communicate with spirits of the death. They believe
they can transcend the barriers of space and time and see into the past,
actually make contact with the ghost of a tormented person and relive the
trauma of some long forgotten tragedy. Can a ghost be set free to move on to
another world?
In Search
Of cameras are ready to document appearances when Silvia Brown is set into
trance. The camera picks up something moving.
Many
people believe that a ghost is a disembodied spirit of a person who suffered
an emotionally tragic death and who is imprisoned forever in that local.
One
target of a ghostly stakeout is a shackled house 200 miles north of San
Francisco overlooking the California coast. In the 1920ies a mysterious
incident occurred and the house was abandoned. Neighbours swear they hear
the voice of a woman and her footsteps.
Antoinette May, a freelance journalist provided residents for background
information and In Search Of went there with a team of ghost hunters.
The psychics, who were not informed about the history, and the In Search Of
Team were allowed in by the new owners who do not believe in ghosts. Silvia
Brown and Nick Nosereno have been practicing psychics for 20 years working
on more than 200 ghost - investigations. Nick says that, if a ghost appears,
it appears as a flash of light – too quick for the eye to see.

Using
quick speed filming material the appearance of a ghost makes photo light up
as if the house was on fire.
Antoinette and Nick put together what they find when walking from room to
room: The year 1923 comes up clearly: Elegantly dressed ladies, lights,
parties... a name comes up. Carmilla Carleda, beautiful brown eyes, brown
hair, and various ladies, and only one man, of whom they get the impression
of a ruler. They get the impression of someone running down to the cliffs,
breathing hard. The story of a distressed young lady is confirmed by the
neighbours.
At a
country inn in the Sierra Nevada Mountains called "The Vineyard House" one
guest does not stay in the house any more because she was awakened at 4:00
a.m. observing the opening and closing of doors without seeing anybody and
hearing footsteps.
At night
Nick begins to pick up psychic vibrations after he has heard footsteps, but
contact remains illusive.
At the
cemetery where the formers owners are buried they feel tragedy. A woman,
Louise, has loved a man, his devise and her devastation from it. Out of
pity, caring and certainly love she has chained the man in the basement. Her
personality is still in the house, protecting everything, her guilt is too
strong, so that contact cannot be made, the psychics say.
