IN SEARCH Of... Season 6 # 20, Eva Braun

Who was Eva Braun? She had seemed to be animal and children loving, a fun person who enjoyed life. Two hobbies she had: Photographing and a great variety of sports. She was a photographer's assistant. That way she got to know Adolf Hitler. Eva Braun was hidden from public because it should not become known that Hitler had a mistress. Lonely she lived at a residence in Berchtesgarden and became depressed. It is not known what she knew of the war or about the crimes taking place in the country - or what she chose to know. But she realized that the war would come to an end weeks before the official end. She was sent to safety but refused to go. Instead she went to Berlin and stayed with him in the bunker where Hitler was hiding knowing that she would die there. On April, 29 they were married in the bunker, a day later they committed suicide because the Russians were only a few hundred yards away. As promised Hitler's followers burned the bodies. Scientists found out that it was not necessarily the bodies of them they found, but that both escaped. While Hitler's skull was later identified by his teeth. Many Nazi hid in South America. Opinions about her death or escape vary.
