In Search Of... Season 1 # 5, BIGFOOT

A giant hairy creature, part ape, part man. The Indians call him Sasquatch. He's been seen many times in the rugged mountains of the Pacific North – West. The encounters have not always been peaceful. In 1924 miners, in a canyon near Mt. St. Helens in Washington, experienced that large, hairy apes tried to get into their cabin. Sasquatch was part of Indian knowledge for those living in Canada or along the Oregon River.

A giant hominid related to but not like modern man... if you want to call that a missing link, that's fine. A cast of a jaw of Sasquatch found in China shows that it is much larger than an ape's, being anatomically in-between human and ape in its teeth. A film taken by Roger Patterson in Northern California is the most convincing evidence of Bigfoot's existence. Hundreds of unexplained footprints have been found in these woods.

From about 2000 reports of Bigfoot, 1000 can be taken for real and the Indians believe him to be a gentle being.
