"My major passion now is my photography which I had been working at for many,
many years... intensely I am working on a project that has to deal with time, my
life in time and time in general. I am working with photographic images that
deal with that subject..."

Leonard shows a countdown-clock which "... is based on actually tables that's
how many days I have left to live." (5.400 days it shows)
"Based on that I have begun working
on the idea of shooting an essay on my time and time in general. It' s a very broad subject.
I'm not sure exactly how successful I'm gonna be or what's it's gonna look like. But I
have put together a few images to begin with..."
"...almost all of the good moments had to do with being able to do something
publically, to do something where I could stand up and make a
statement of some kind."
Leonard shows e sequence of photos. 1 role of film, shot during the course of one hour.
A Yoga teacher would do Yoga exercises for an hour without paying him any attention...
Leonard shot a picture every 2 and a half minutes...
About the egg series Leonard explains: "This is an egg shell. Something has happened...
This is an abstract version of what we've been talking about..."
"As you can see I'm exploring, I'm
examining."
About the self-portraits: "The light to me is a life force, is the energy..."
Leonard shows his first camera and his first photo (his grandfather) he shot during the
war, when it was hard to get film.
After ST and M:I, Leonard took classes at U.C.L.A. and found out that what he wanted to
do was fine art photography. "Fine art means: You can't make a living of it...
the last seven, eight years I focused on photography."
Shekhina
"The whole thing started with an image that I made for a collection that I
heard about of a gentleman .. all based on the human hand... Introduction of the
Vulcan Salute." Leonard translates the blessing in English:
"May the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord cause his countenance
to shine upon you, may the Lord turn his graciousness upon you and grant you peace."
He shares how he looked at the Khohanim and how fascinates he was by it.
The letter "shin", the first letter in the name Shaddai (which is the name of the Almighty),
is shaped by the two outstretched hands with which the congregation is blessed.
"… very passionate. It made an impression on me."
"It took me a long, long time to find out why you are not supposed to look."
Later it was explained to him that the Khohanim are summoning the Shekhina,
the feminine aspect of God. And she comes into the Synagogue to bless the congregation...
"And I began to explore the idea expressing that in photographs."
Leonard began to lace in the letter shin into the images and then he branched out from there.
In the darkroom Leonard feels a sense of privacy and a sense of a quiet, creative process...
and in the end he can hold something in his hand... that's something an actor usually doesn't have.
Leonard develops his own photos and creates his own mounts.
