Arsenio Hall Show - Geriatric Trek 1992

"They are too old! The Enterprise was flying while the blinker was on for an hour...
Please, welcome the senior citizens from outer space: Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy!

They are too old! They are too old!"

The question about the correct use of words is raised: Trekkies?

LN: "There is an ongoing controversy about that, you are right. Some people who are referred to as 'Trekkies" kind of resent it because it is diminutive, it's like a put-down. And they prefer to be called 'Terkkers'." (Loud agreement from the audience)

Arsenio Hall asks about the video tape "25th Anniversary". What's in this and why shall I buy it?"

We have been doing a number of cities for the 25th anniversary tour. We have never done this before- the two of us together out in public. And the punch-line of this thing is: We've been together in Galaxies, strange places, lot's of strange planets... The one thing we have never faced before, together, is a live audience.

Arsenio Hall confesses that he's a fan and that he'd like to find out whether there'll be another Star Trek movie. "So, you 'd like to do one?" He asks Bill Shatner.

"Would you, Leonard?" Bill asks.

"We both would love to do it, but Bill and I have a difference of opinion about what it will be going to. My feeling is they've put us out to pasture, we have done it, you know?"
