On May, 14th + 15th 2005, Leonard was attending both days of the Movie/Comic/Media show at ExCeL (Expo Centre London) at Royal Victoria Dock, Docklands.

Staying at a very nice hotel, the Ibis, directly in front of the ExCeL, we got up very early to queue for hours before the Expo was opened – totally unnecessarily, because Leonard signed all day on both of the days, hundreds and hundreds of autographs, to make sure that everybody who wanted a signature got it.

 Inside the Centre there was no queue even a tenth as long as the one before Leonard's desk. Because there was always a moment of time (while the next paid for his/her ticket first) the person at Leonard's desk got the chance to talk to him, exchange a smile, a greeting or shake hands with him. Nearly to everybody Leonard could mange to look up. Quite a difference the MCM was to the conventions I have seen before. No performance but meeting fans personally - even when it was for a short moment only for some. And here, too, many have met him for the first time in their lives. With some breaks only Leonard stayed there and signed and signed, always being friendly, kind and quickly aware of everybody's wish. He quickly sensed what every person needed. Leonard and Tevje, his personal assistant for the MCM, made a good team and thousands of people very, very happy.
