The beginning of Leonard Nimoy's photographic career (when he was about 13 years old) is summarized. To this day the camera he started with, a bellows Kodak Autographic, is in his possession. In the early 70ies Leonard studies photography at UCLA under Robert Heineken and published some of his photographs in his poetry books.

"During a recent 'artist in residence' appointment at the American Academy in Rome, Nimoy produced a series of images based on the Antonio Canova sculpture of Paolina Bonaparte Borghese."
