The interviewer meets Leonard Nimoy in Bonn before his appearance on stage. He is relaxed and in a great mood.

"Soon you'll be celebrated by thousands of fans. How do you avoid a god - complex?"

"A god - complex?" Leonard Nimoy laughs out loud. "My wife would never allow that." (His wife Susan nods in agreement).  "No, I see things very reasonably. To be famous often spoils the character, I stay ion the ground."

"Once a car followed me from the airport in L.A. I panicked, the car went by and stopped in front of me. Two men in dark clothes slowly approached. They were FBI agents and asked me for an autograph...  Before Spock I did not have an acting job which lasted longer than two weeks. I delivered newspapers, drove a cab, had a pet shop and even sold vacuum cleaners. Until Spock beamed me up." (Nimoy modestly nods his head)

"For the first season I got just $ 37,000. This is what you get for an episode today. But I do not complain about the  money I got for the  movies." (He grins)

Q: "Your alcoholism you do not keep as a secret..."

"... The sudden pressure to constantly prove myself became too much for me..."

Q: "Do you still see your colleagues?"

"Only Bill Shatner. We often dine together. He really struggles to draw even, makes films, writes books, raises horses, but he will never make it. Poor guy. No, he is great, I love him."

Being asked about his privacy:

"I am a great Simpsons- - fan and I was happy when they asked me to speak in Futurama. Today, ... I have a big garden und take photographs of naked women. (grins). No, really, I have discovered my artistic enthusiasm for undressed, big women and love to take photos of them. I have had several exhibitions already."

Q: "You will be remembered as 'Mr. Spock', how do you feel about that?"

"Proud and happy. Through Mr. Spock I met friends like Bill and Bones, De-Forest Kelly, whom I loved like a brother. And I met an audience with Intelligence and heart. They do not want action only, but ideas, huge fantasies. Like the biggest of all... peace! Star Trek dreamt of unity of all life forms. For this dream I was never ashamed, it fills me with pride, there is nothing better to pass on."
