He is totally comfortable with the situation, Leonard Nimoy says referring to the association with Spock. "When they see you on television like that they wonder 'Is it the way he really is?' No, that's not really how I am. I am different. So I wrote the book to try to explain, but unfortunately, there was a lot of misunderstanding. ... I gave the book a bad title. It was my idea, and it was a bad idea. I thought it would be interesting to people, but it turned out to be a problem."

"I am the actor who played Spock, so, I guess, in some meaningful sense, I am Spock. That's the way it is in our language. One way or another, his days of being involved with making films and television shows are over. ... Right now, I am doing photography. That's where my creative energy is going these days."

When the Russian government was declaring a moratorium on whale hunting the World Wildlife Fund asked me to go to Russia and show the film there.
"So we showed it in Moscow at the Filmmakers Union and at the American embassy. Then my wife and I flew from Moscow to Lvov (now part of the Ukraine), and from Lvov by trains to Khmelnitsky. From there, we went by car to the village where my parents came from – Iziaslav. We were there for a few days. That was an interesting trip."

Richard Michelson, Nimoy's agent, said about the presentation of Leonard's photography at the 15th annual united Fan Con at Springfield Marriott. "It's more a side thing, just to introduce his photography. But everyone is coming by to see what he does. They enjoy these works."
